In the News - Santa Cruz Film Festival KSBW Channel Locally Filmed Movie Kicks Off Flick Fest SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- The Santa Cruz Film Festival got under way Thursday night, and at least one well-known name is in town. David Arquette's directorial debut, "The Tripper" premiered at the historical Del Mar Theater downtown. The movie is a horror flick-political satire that follows a group of hippie kids hanging out in the Santa Cruz redwoods. But the Woodstock-like love fest turns into a horror whodunit. Hundreds of people lined up to see the movie, which was filmed locally. Many were extras in the film as well. Arquette said Santa Cruz was the perfect setting, and the locals were the perfect talent for the flick. |
